Leave Tauranga with your own driver and travel south-west to Taupō. Visit Huka Falls, take in the vast Lake Taupō, enjoy a lakeside lunch, and finish with drop-off at your Taupō accommodation. Optional geothermal stops can be added if time allows.

  • Booking this trip doesn't lock you into these exact places. On the day you can ask your driver to skip a stop, linger longer somewhere, or head somewhere else entirely.
  • The one thing we do need to keep is where you're picked up and where you finish — those stay as booked.
  • Your booked time still applies (8 hours for this trip). Your driver has to get home too, so anything beyond that needs to be arranged and paid for in advance.

Price covers the private vehicle, driver and fuel. Activity tickets (e.g. Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, geothermal parks) are the customer's responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Can we add Wai-O-Tapu on the way?

It makes a long day but is possible. We recommend an overnight if you want both major geothermal parks.

Is this suitable if I am travelling with luggage?

Yes. The vehicle has room for standard luggage. Let us know if you have oversized items.

Can I be dropped at a Taupō hotel or airport?

Yes. We drop at accommodation, the airport, or the town centre.
