Overview
A big, comfortable day south from Auckland. Morning at the Hobbiton Movie Set with its 44 hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn and the Party Tree, then across the Waikato to Waitomo for the glowworm boat ride through the limestone cathedral. Your driver-guide handles the timing so both official tours line up, with a country lunch stop in between.
Private car and driver for up to 12 hours (return to Auckland) with unlimited kilometres. Stop wherever you like, linger longer at one spot, skip another, or change plans on the day.
